Homemade peanut butter cups

Reese’s are my husbands favorite candy bar so I was excited to share them with my kids! Here’s how I made some at home:

Ingredients:

For Peanut butter:

  • 2 lbs peanuts, roasted and unsalted

  • Sprinkle of salt

*Food process your peanuts until they turn into peanut butter, scraping down the sides occasionally.

Peanut butter cup filling:

  • 1 cup of your peanut butter

  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar +- 1-3 tbsp

  • 2-3 tbsp melted butter

Combine these into a bowl until they form a very thick peanut butter filling. You want it to be able to be molded into a shape.

To make your peanut butter cups you will need:

  • 1 bag melting chocolates (I have my favorite type in my amazon storefront, but any will do)

  • Double boiler

  • Cupcake liners or silicone pb cup mold

To make your peanut butter cups: melt your chocolate in a double boiler or a pot with water and a bowl. Take your chocolate and cover the bottom and sides of your cupcake liners (in a muffin tin) or your silicone mold (I find this way to be easier personally). Set these in the refrigerator to cool until they harden. Take about a tsp of your peanut butter gilling and roll into a ball, then flatten into your molds so they create the peanut butter filling, top each peanut butter cup with chocolate. Place back into the refrigerator to harden before popping out of the cupcake liners or silicone molds and enjoy :)

Let me know if you guys try this one and what you think!
