Dubai chocolate bar
After obsessing about this viral food trend for months with nowhere locally I could try it, here’s how I finally made my own at home.
Pistachio creme:
Ingredients:
2 cups roasted pistachios
1/4-1/3 cup powdered sugar
pinch salt (unless you can only find salted pistachios, then omit the salt)
1/4-1/3 cup avocado oil (start with a 1/4 cup and add a little more if needed)
Method: In your food processor, blend your pistachios until they are crumbly. Add in your powdered sugar and salt then continue to blend. Then, add in your oil, little by little and continue to let your mixture blend until it becomes pistachio creme. Transfer to a jar until you’re ready to use
For the bar:
Ingredients:
2 cups kataifi dough, roughly chopped
2-3 cups dark chocolate (can use milk chocolate if you prefer)
2 tbsp tahini
1-1.5 cups pistachio creme
1 tbsp butter
Method:
In a double boiler melt your chocolate and set aside.
In a separate pan, melt your butter, then add in your kataifi and toast it.
Add in your pistachio creme and mix until combined, then add in your tahini and continue to mix. Take off the heat and set aside.
Take your candy bar mold and coat the bottom and sides with your melted chocolate. It is best to let this harden in the freezer for 10-15 minutes before adding in the filling, but in all honesty I didn’t do that and it still looked okay, it could’ve been prettier though which is why I’ll suggest officially that you let the chocolate harden first.
Once your chocolate has hardened, add your filling to your chocolate bar, then top with the remaining melted chocolate.
Place your bar into the refrigerator or freezer until hardened then pop it out of your chocolate bar mold and enjoy!! :)
Let me know if you guys try this one and what you think!
