Vanilla Simple Syrup

Recently, I got sick and tired of buying coffee. I can’t add collagen easily to an iced latte from a shop, or control what milk is in it, and it’s $7! No thanks. I’ve decided instead to start making all my lattes at home. The one thing I was missing was a vanilla syrup. There are many different ways to make this, but I found this way to be the simplest.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 cup water

  • 1-2 tsp of vanilla extract (or vanilla paste, which is what I used)

Method:

  1. In a saucepan, heat up your sugar and water until your sugar has completely dissolved

  2. Add in your vanilla extract or paste and continue to simmer for 5 or so minutes

  3. Remove from the heat and allow to cool before transferring to a syrup bottle or jar.

Let me know if you guys try this recipe and what you think!
