Chocolate sourdough banana bread

This chocolate sourdough banana bread is quite literally what all of my toddler’s hopes and dreams were made of. It was quick to make, delicious, and has all the gut health benefits of the sourdough starter. Here’s how I made it:

Ingredients:

  • 220 g all-purpose flour

  • 40 g cocoa powder

  • 135 g sourdough starter

  • 180 g brown sugar

  • 2 eggs

  • 115 g coconut oil

  • 3 very ripe bananas

  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • Pinch baking soda

  • Pinch salt

  • Splash vanilla extract

Method:

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit

  2. Mash your bananas in your mixing bowl

  3. Add the rest of your ingredients to your bowl and mix

  4. Place in a greased loaf pan

  5. Bake in your preheated oven for 60-80 minutes. To check if it’s done, place a fork or a knife in the center of your loaf, if it comes out clean, it’s ready
